My name is Austin Zeglis. I’m a writer, a strategist, and an editor.

I was born in Boston and grew up in the Ann Arbor area of Southeast Michigan. I originally moved to Chicago for school, spending five years to earn two degrees in economics and journalism.

I came up through reporting: three years on campus politics and NCAA sports at the Chicago Maroon and some time spent at a Bay Area wire service. I also worked in game-day PR for the WNBA’s Chicago Sky and wrote the Enjoy Basketball newsletter for three years.

Currently, my work is social strategy for clients like Freakonomics Radio/Better in Person, Mary in America, and Tech Week.

Things I’m into: discovering new music, the Midwestern United States, local journalism, sports in culture throughout history, and vexillology.
